A Mundane Monday Post –

This weekend, my body reminded me who’s really in charge. I’m so much better from my fall that happened two weeks ago but it’s sweater weather here and so is colds and flu season. I wanted to be out, doing, moving, but instead, I found myself slowed to a crawl. The fatigue (and this stubborn cold) hit hard, bringing along that uneasy feeling of being lazy or unproductive.
It’s funny how quickly we tie our worth to how much we get done, how “out there” we are. But being under the weather has a way of humbling you. It asks you to sit still, to listen, to surrender control, not as weakness, but as care. Easier said than done.
So I stayed home with my cats and hubby. I rested. I reminded myself that healing is still progress, even if it doesn’t look like much from the outside. Sometimes, staying centered means accepting that the most productive thing you can do… is nothing at all.
Now, almost a week in, I’m feeling better, not 100% yet, and still trying to take it slow without letting guilt or that itch to do more creep back in. Anyway, just a little Monday evening thought from my couch. Cheers to rest, patience, and not losing it when life tells you to pause.
